From the moment we are born, the world is dominated by self-interest. Division, conflict, and selfish ambition shape human relationships and even nature itself. This mindset, traced back to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, continues to influence humanity (Genesis 3). Pride and rebellion, first seen in Satan (Ezekiel 28), spread like a virus, affecting angels, humans, and the natural world alike (Revelation 12; 1 John 5:19).
Yet the Feast of Tabernacles reminds us this is not the end. God’s Kingdom promises a restored world where selfishness and division will be gone. Revelation 20 describes Satan’s binding, ending his deception over the nations. Isaiah 11 paints a vivid picture of peace: wolves and lambs dwelling together, predators no longer threatening the weak, and all creation living in harmony. Zechariah 8 emphasizes social peace and joy, declaring fasts will be replaced with cheerful feasts.
This Feast celebrates God dwelling among His people, offering hope, abundance, and unity. Even now, Philippians 2:3–4 calls us to live unselfishly, valuing others above ourselves, reflecting God’s character in anticipation of His Kingdom.
As we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, we look forward to a world freed from selfishness, where creation thrives, and humanity walks in peace and unity under God’s rule. It is a time to rejoice, feast, and anticipate the ultimate fulfillment of His plan.
