The Bible teaches that God is in the process of expanding the divine family. God the Father and the Son are reproducing Themselves in the form of perhaps billions of spirit beings, who will be like Them, sharing Their level of existence: “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters” (2 Corinthians 6:18) This is a radically different premise about the purpose of human life than is understood by popular “Christian” doctrine, which is erroneously based on a blend of pagan philosophy rather than the Bible. According to the Bible, God is preparing a few people now to become immortal spirit beings when Christ returns, so they can serve the rest of humanity in God’s righteous government on the earth. They will govern with Christ in love and genuine concern for people, and share an opportunity for all human beings – then living or later resurrected – to know God and choose His way. From there, God’s plan encompasses all eternity. Everyone in His family will participate in rulership of the entire universe with God. Who knows the awesome future He has in store for His family! But since He is the great Creator, we can be confident that creating will be part of our future with Him. “He who overcomes will inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son” (Revelation 21:7). This is an awe inspiring inheritance and a profound purpose for our lives.
