The Bible has a lot to say about the impact leaders have on the well-being of their people.

In Proverbs 29:4, it says, “By justice a king gives a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down.”

So, looking at the world today, how do our leaders stack up against this standard?

Proverbs 6:16-19 spells out seven things that can lead to the downfall of both leaders and society:

Prideful arrogance
Lying
Shedding innocent blood
Plotting wicked schemes
Rushing into evil
Spreading lies
Stirring up conflict within the community.
But what if we flipped that script? Imagine if everyone, especially our leaders, aimed for the exact opposite of these destructive behaviors.

Picture a world where humility and respect for others are the norm. Where honesty and transparency guide our conversations. Where protecting the innocent is a priority, and plans are made with ethical intentions.

Imagine a society driven by fairness, truthfulness, and a commitment to harmony.

If we held ourselves and our leaders to these higher standards, just think of the difference it could make. Real justice, honesty, and integrity could truly transform our communities. Wouldn’t that be amazing?
