The True Gospel vs. a Different Gospel thebiblesaysthat.com
Most churches believe they’re fulfilling Jesus’ command to preach the gospel (Mark 16:15). And many sincerely teach that God loves everyone, Jesus died for sinners, and that accepting Him means going to heaven.
But the Bible shows that the true gospel Jesus preached has been replaced by a different one.
Jesus proclaimed “the gospel of the kingdom of God,” calling people to repent and believe (Mark 1:14–15). He spoke repeatedly about God’s coming Kingdom on earth—far more than He spoke about His death or resurrection. He taught that His followers would inherit that Kingdom and even help rule in it (Matthew 19:28; Revelation 5:10).
The Apostles taught the same gospel—about the Kingdom of God—not a message of going to heaven (Acts 8:12; 28:31; John 3:13).
Scripture warned that false teachers would arise and distort the gospel, leading many astray (Galatians 1:6–7; Matthew 24:4–5). Over time, the biblical gospel was transformed—absorbing pagan ideas like the immortality of the soul, heaven as the reward of the saved, and discarding Christ’s teachings on the Sabbath and Holy Days.
But just before Christ’s return, the true gospel of the Kingdom will once again go out to the world as a witness (Matthew 24:14). That time is now.
