The Book of Revelation seems like confused, fantastical imagery. But it can be understood. While the end-time events it foretells are terrifying, the ultimate message of the book is that God will institute universal peace, prosperity and cooperation over all the earth when Jesus Christ returns. It reveals how this wonderful new world will be established and why it will never be destroyed or superseded by any other way of life or social order. The linked Podcast walks through a detailed analysis of what the Bible says about end time events. First will come general conditions of false religion, war, famine and pestilence – on a global scale. These scourges will kill one fourth of the earth’s population. Then, Jewish priests will start performing animal sacrifices in Jerusalem again. They will be stopped, with the “Abomination of Desolation” setup in their place. Christ said that this event marks a time to flee and hide, because it begins the worst time in human history: The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord. The latter is marked by heavenly signs when the sun and moon are darkened and meteors fall to the earth. Another one-third of the earth’s human population will die. Then the vortex of destruction is halted; Christ returns to save mankind from total annihilation. He subjugates the nations and establishes His eternal Kingdom. God’s faithful will be resurrected to eternal spirit life. They will help Christ restore the earth and humanity. Ultimately, everyone who has ever lived will be given the chance to experience this Kingdom, and to choose eternal life. The Book of Revelation is a message of great hope.
