Post-modernism: Marxism in Disguise – Tomorrow’s World youtube.com
Postmodernism is a movement that came out of the 20th century. It is one of the Neo-Marxist philosophies that came about as a result of the utter failure of Marxism or Socialism over the course of that century. It’s often characterized by relativism or skepticism – having a healthy suspicion of reason and known truth.
Marxism views all history as the struggle between classes. This, mainly between the poor, working class and the rich, capitalist class. This theory utterly failed through the course of the 20th century as Capitalist countries saw a growth in the middle and upper classes with a decline in the lower poor class whereas the socialist nations found a greater divide between the growing poor and few rich and a complete loss of a middle class. Marxism caused the very thing it purported to solve.
With this failure was the birth of postmodernism by those that followed the Marxist doctrine. This became the unofficial movement behind the critique of Western society and the philosophy behind the new “Identity Politics” movement. A belief that your identity is group fostered and not individually developed. Each group categorized as either the oppressed or the oppressor. This is apparent through the rhetoric of so many in power in our time.
Like its predecessor, postmodernism will fail, bringing about pain, suffering and the loss of individual freedoms as we are already seeing.
