In the summer of 2022, the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus faced criticism for an online music video in which members sang about indoctrinating children. The controversial lines spoke of converting children subtly; “You think that we’ll corrupt your kids if our agenda goes unchecked. Funny, just this once, you’re correct.”. After the fact, the group claimed it was satire, but the intent behind the lyrics, even if tongue-in-cheek, was clear; they feel entitled to systematically erode opposition to their view of morality.

And indeed, the LGBTQ movement is effective. Examples of broad acceptance include the rise of “drag queen story hour” events in libraries, major toy manufacturers introducing drag queen dolls aimed at young children, and cases of teachers encouraging students to explore their sexual identity. A recent study found that over 30% of Millennials now identify as LGBTQ, and that the trend is influenced by the portrayal of LGBTQ lifestyles as “safe and cool” in social and news media.

Justice Samuel Alito’s dissenting opinion on the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage predicted that “by imposing its own views on the entire country” the court would facilitate the vilification and marginalization of “Americans who are unwilling to assent to the new orthodoxy.” His prediction is coming true, as those who hold Biblically-based moral values are considered bigots.

God offers us clear moral guidelines and strongly cautions against rejecting them.
